Find a drop-in class

IMCW drop-in classes are located throughout the Washington, DC area. They are led by IMCW certified teachers who welcome newcomers and they offer basic meditation instruction.  The sessions generally last 90 minutes and include a period of sitting guided meditation, a talk by the teacher and afterwards, some time for socialization. An IMCW class is the best way to connect with a teacher and community to support your daily practice.

Find spiritual friends

IMCW Spiritual Friends are small peer-led groups that consist of six to twelve meditation students who are committed to supporting one another as they explore the practice of the dharma (teachings) in their daily lives.  Because these groups are small and meet regularly (usually twice/month), they allow for intimacy and sharing,  and discussion of how to keep meditation  practice alive in daily life.

Find a class series

IMCW regularly offers class series suitable for beginning meditators, including Intro to Meditation, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC).  These series generally run weekly for a couple of months and each class builds on the last. They offer in-depth study to people at all levels of experience.
